4-Day Intensive Institute for Teachers Who Cover the Holocaust; Applications Due April 15

The Martin-Springer Institute is offering a 4-DAY INTENSIVE INSTITUTE for a select cohort of 12 Arizona teachers on July 13-17, 2025 at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff.

What is included:

  • Presentations, mentoring, and personalized feedback addressing your specific ideas, direction, questions, and existing materials
  • Four hotel nights
  • Most but not all meals
  • $400 stipend for those who complete the program Certificate of professional development clock hours

What will be covered:

  • Themes and topics - What's right for your community, your school, your student population
  • Up-to-date pedagogy - How to choose and prioritize resources • How to receive free resources

Details:

  • Applications will be accepted until April 15, 2025.
  • Accepted participants will be notified by May 9, 2025.
  • This event will be facilitated by Kim Klett, 31 years experience as a classroom teacher. United States Holocaust Memorial Museum teacher trainer and community outreach, and Echoes & Reflections Senior Facilitator.
  • Those accepted into the program will need to pay a nonrefundable deposit of S150.00. After the intensive is completed, you will receive a $400.00 stipend.
  • We will keep a waiting list in case of last minute cancellations.

Who should apply?

  • Middle and high school educators who currently teach the Holocaust in English/Language and/or History/ Social Studies classes.
  • Those from under-served and rural schools are especially encouraged to apply
